Dirt Roads to Distinction: Condado & Canaan from Mantiqueira de Minas

In the mountains of Mantiqueira de Minas, coffee tells a deeper story, one shaped by elevation, craftsmanship, and long-standing relationships with the farmers behind every cup.

Through our partnership with the COCARIVE cooperative, we’re proud to share two coffees that reflect not just the quality of this region, but its range.

Two Coffees, One Origin

Brazil is often defined by balance—chocolate, nuts, and approachability. But within that familiarity lies a wider spectrum, shaped not just by where coffee is grown, but how it’s processed.

During a recent visit to the COCARIVE cooperative, two coffees stood out on the cupping table. Not because they came from different places—but because they revealed how differently one place can present itself.

Same cooperative. Similar elevation. Shared commitment to quality—Yet in the cup, they tell two completely different stories.

Understanding the Difference

Processing is where potential becomes expression.
A pulped natural process brings clarity and structure, allowing balance and refinement to lead the cup.

A natural process leans into the fruit, building body, sweetness, and a more expressive profile. Together, these coffees show how one region can deliver both precision and vibrancy, depending on how the coffee is handled.

Try Them Side by Side

The best way to understand the difference is simple—taste it.  Brew them side by side and notice how the same origin can create two distinct experiences. One grounded in structure, one driven by fruit, both unmistakably Brazil.
