Maracaturra, a hybrid of the Maragogype "Elephant Bean" and Caturra varietals, takes its name from its two parent varietals. Its large, porous beans are similar to those of the Maragogype, but with the more exciting flavors of the Caturra varietal.
This lot was produced using the honey process, meaning the outer skin of the coffee cherry was removed while the inner mucilage was left to dry with the beans, enhancing the body and mouthfeel of the coffee. With a delicate, rich and complex profile, this coffee is full bodied with a smooth, velvety mouthfeel, and floral notes with a hint of spice.
This is one of the four coffees we offer from Finca Los Pinos, three of which are also Maracaturras and can be found in our Producer's Collection. Check out the rest of our Producer's Collection to try coffees that are of the same varietal and were grown on the same farm, but have unique tasting notes due to the processing methods used.
